Lighting Design Is an Engineering Discipline
Illumify was founded to bring manufacturing‑depth expertise and engineering rigor into the design and construction process—where lighting decisions directly impact performance, compliance, and experience.
We design lighting as a coordinated system, not a collection of fixtures. Through a structured, multi‑phase process, we balance architectural intent, photometric performance, code requirements, and constructability from concept through commissioning.
By validating lighting digitally and coordinating documentation early, we eliminate glare, reduce RFIs, prevent late‑stage substitutions, and protect schedules.
Lighting that performs is engineered, verified, and coordinated.
Lighting performance, validated before construction begins.
Illumify is a PE‑led lighting design and electrical engineering firm delivering photometrically validated lighting systems for residential and commercial projects. We partner with design and construction teams to ensure lighting performs as intended—visually, technically, and operationally—long before anything is built.
Leading with Engineering Rigor and Accountability
Jared Jin, the Principal of Illumify and a licensed Professional Engineer (Electrical) with over a decade of experience in luminaire engineering, photometric testing, and lighting system validation.
Prior to founding Illumify, Jared held engineering leadership roles at Acuity Brands, where he worked directly on the design, evaluation, and manufacturing of luminaires specified across commercial and high‑end residential projects. That experience shaped Illumify’s core philosophy: lighting is not a product category—it is a performance system that must survive design development, value engineering, inspection, and construction.
Jared holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, bringing both technical depth and execution discipline to every project. Today, he works closely with architects, interior designers, builders, and general contractors to translate design intent into lighting systems that are code‑defensible, constructible, and predictable in the field.
