Architectural Lighting Design

What a render cannot tell you is whether the room is buildable.

A lighting system that isn't engineered, coordinated, and commissioned isn't finished — it's an installation waiting to fail. Illumify is a PE- and LC-led lighting design firm that owns lighting from design intent to built reality, running the specification from concept through commissioning so the space performs the way it was drawn.

Design Intent, Protected

Where Lighting Fails — and Where We Hold It.

Photometric Engineering

A fixture specified without modeling is a guess. We run DIALux Evo simulations before anything is ordered — mapping actual light distribution, surface reflectance interactions, and glare conditions. What you see in the model is what gets built.

Specification Integrity

A contractor substitution approved without photometric equivalence review is a design intent failure. We review every submittal against CRI, beam angle, dimming protocol, and physical fit — not just manufacturer name.

Commissioning Accountability

An installed lighting system is not a finished lighting system. Aiming, control scene programming, and dimmer curve verification happen at the end of every Illumify engagement — not as an optional add-on.

Control & Scene Design

Control Intent and Human-Centric Lighting

Control is a design decision, not a device purchase. We specify and coordinate control systems — from Lutron Homeworks to contractor-grade platforms — so dimming curves, scenes, and circadian shifts behave the way they were intended, on the correct circuits, verified at commissioning. We author the control intent; programming and integration are performed by your electrical or system integrator partner.

Technical Design Services

We provide coordinated lighting design and documentation from concept through commissioning for architects, interior designers, and builders who require verified performance in high-value projects.

Schematic Design & Modeling

3D light modeling in DIALux Evo to verify illuminance, distribution, and visual outcome during the drafting and permit phase, before anything is ordered.

Technical Specification

Permit-ready luminaire schedules and submittals built for photometric accuracy and architectural coordination.

Specification Coordination

Submittal review, substitution evaluation, and on-site commissioning that protect design intent as others procure and install.

Our Story

Where Technical Precision Meets Architectural Intent

Illumify was founded by Jared Jin, P.E., LC, MBA — an engineer who spent over a decade inside the manufacturing side of lighting, engineering the luminaires, drivers, and controls that get specified into architectural and high-end residential projects.

That decade exposed a gap: the point where a rendered lighting design meets the realities of construction — value engineering, substitutions, field conditions — with no single party accountable for closing it.

Illumify exists to close that gap. Based in Norcross, GA and serving the greater Atlanta region, we are the technical bridge between architectural intent and built performance — using photometric simulation (DIALux Evo), code-defensible specifications, and on-site coordination so the lighting design survives contact with construction.

From design intent to built reality.

The Illumify Design Lab & Experience Center

Seven demonstration zones. Control systems from top-tier integration platforms to contractor-grade and DIY level. A fully finished kitchen lit by six distinct techniques under a single scene — luminous ceiling panel, cove indirect, recessed task, under-cabinet, wall sconce, and picture light, all running simultaneously.

No other independent lighting design environment in Atlanta replicates this.

Architects, interior designers, builders, and owners use the Lab to verify material response under specified light before construction locks those decisions in. Bring your material samples. See exactly what your stone, wood, and fabric selections do under the light that will actually hit them.

By appointment.
