30-Minute Discovery Meeting — Illumify Design Lab & Experience Center
Free · 30 Minutes · No Obligation

First, let's make sure
we're the right fit.

Our first meeting is a mutual discovery session — 30 minutes to understand your project, find out who is carrying the lighting through construction, and decide whether an Illumify engagement makes sense. No pitch. No proposal until we both agree there's a match.

How it works

Three steps from first conversation to signed engagement.

Step 01

30-Minute Discovery Meeting

We listen first. You describe your project — scope, timeline, team, and what's already been decided. We ask the questions that show where lighting decisions are likely to change. At the end of this meeting, we both know whether there's a fit.

Always Free
Step 02

Custom Proposal

If there's a mutual match, we deliver a written proposal specific to your project scope and goals. Scope of services, deliverables, timeline, and a fixed fee — stated clearly. No hourly surprises on standard engagements.

No Cost to Receive
Step 03

Signed Design Agreement

Engagement begins only after the proposal is accepted and a signed design agreement is in place. All work — photometric modeling, specification, submittal review, site observation, commissioning — is governed by that agreement.

Formal Engagement
The 30-minute meeting

What we cover in the discovery session.

  • Project scope and current status
What's been decided, what's still open, who else is on the team.
  • Who is carrying the lighting
Whether anyone on your team is assigned to carry the lighting decisions through construction to the finished room.
  • Lighting coordination risks
Ceiling conditions, control system requirements, permit path, code minimums.
  • Your goals for the lighting
How the space should feel, control capability, energy efficiency, budget range.
  • Whether Illumify is the right fit
Honest assessment — if someone on your team already carries the lighting through commissioning, or we're not the right resource, we'll say so.
After the meeting

What a proposal covers.

Your custom proposal includes:

Defined scope of services — exactly what Illumify delivers and what falls outside the engagement.
Specific deliverables — photometric models, fixture schedules, control documentation, Lab review, submittal review, site observation, aiming and scene setup.
Fixed fee — stated clearly. No hourly ambiguity on standard project scopes.
Project timeline — phased to your construction schedule and decision milestones.
Payment terms — 50% to initiate, 50% at initial design delivery. No billing surprises.
Who we work with

For projects where the finished room needs to match what was approved.

Custom Home

Building a custom home

See fixtures and scenes on your actual finishes before anything is ordered, then a finished lighting system on move-in day.

Renovation

Upgrading an existing home

Kitchen, living areas, outdoor. Photometric modeling against your actual ceiling conditions — not a generic layout.

Trade Partner

Interior designers

Technical lighting support behind your design — photometrics, controls, and construction follow-through. The client relationship stays yours.

Commercial

Owners, developers & architects

Lighting design carried through construction — substitution review, site observation, aiming, and scene setup — alongside your architect and MEP engineer.

Existing Design

Already have a lighting plan?

We can review the existing design and carry it through construction, without redoing the work your team has already done.

What happens on every engagement

Four checkpoints where lighting intent is most often lost.

Lighting is decided many times on a project — in design, in value engineering, in substitutions, in the field. We add a checkpoint at each of those moments.

Test before lock

Decisions tested on real finishes

Fixtures, color temperature, and control scenes reviewed on your actual materials in the Design Lab before specification is final.

Evaluate substitutions

Every equivalent reviewed

Proposed substitutions reviewed for light output, color, dimming, and fit, with a clear recommendation to whoever holds approval.

Observe before close-in

Lighting checked in the field

A site observation at rough-in, while fixture locations, ceiling depth, and controls can still be corrected easily.

Finish before handover

Aimed, set, and explained

Adjustable fixtures aimed, scenes and dimming set, and a walkthrough so the people using the space know how it works.

We work alongside your architect, interior designer, engineer, and builder — not in place of them.
